Sonata by David Bloom

Sonata, exploring the intersection of pornography & choreography.

Sonata is the second dance film from David Bloom´s Sex & Space Trilogy, following his dance  choreography Quintet from 2013. Classically trained in dance, David’s interests have shifted towards creating beautiful free flowing experiments in movement. Sonata, literally means a piece played as opposed to a cantata (Latin and Italian cantare, “to sing”), a piece sung.

Sonata by David Bloom and his team of performers is a strange, bizarre and mesmerizing study in the creation of erotic imagery, using voices, movements, and elements of medieval paintings interwoven with snippets of bondage and fetish.

The hypnotic happening that has become a 20 min short movie premiered at the Berlin Porn Film Festival 2015. Next stop will be the NY CineKink festival where it will be shown as part of the mix and mingle screening at the prestigous Anthology Film Archives
32 Second Avenue (@ 2nd Street).

Sonata is also part of the evergrowing collection of fine films at Erika Lust‘s Lustcinema.
