Petra Collins, dubbed New York’s art ‘it girl’, photographer and curator of the ardorous project, presents Alexandra Marzella (AKA Rosey Diamond/artwerk6666) in her eight-part series Petra Selects, a collection of shoots and interviews with her favourite underground creatives for Dazed & Confused.
Alexandra Marzella is a performance artist, all time twitterella and part of the DisCrit 89Plus gang, she creates tongue-in-cheek dance videos for the selfie generation, stressing “This is not a joke. This is very serious”. She wholeheartedly believe in the selfie and the macbook/iphone as a medium.

Selfies are love. Everyone should take more selfies. Promoting a positive self image is a good thing. Ideally it’s somewhat realistic, but in general I think being able to confidently share our images with one another is important.
