You know this awkward moment when you realize that is easy to tie yourself, just for a moment, naked on a tree, but far more tricky to free yourself from the ropes.
Hilde Krohne Huse, an artist from London, ended up in such an unfortunate situation in the Norwegian island of Aukra. But every cloud has a silver lining, in this case a camera that recorded the desparate struggle of the nude girl against the laws of physics. Unable to free herself, Hilde had to wait 30 minutes before she was untied by a friend.
Such a raw and unscripted situation, spiced with nudity and voyeurism, creates an intense and performative quality and Hilde was clever enough to put the footage of her fight on youtube getting nearly half a million views.
She nailed it while speaking to ITV News London:
It has gone around the world – it is weird experience to see something that I intended to be fictional, turn real and then be in the news and turn fictional again through the media.
As luck would have it, Ms. Huse’s video was chosen for the prestigious Bloomberg New Contemporaries exhibition, where the work of 37 promising fine arts graduates in the U.K. will be exhibited.
